One of the key design considerations for R.R. Simmons’ headquarters was the need for a variety of conference and teaming space. The team specifically dedicated the four corners of the building on both upper and lower floors to this pursuit. From small intimate rooms for collaboration to large scale conference spaces designed for project kick off meetings, Riverbend addresses both the need and desire of the firm to have creative workspaces for meetings.
Riverbend also acts as a showcase for the firm’s clients as they choose their interior design elements. A specific room serves as the repository of the many building material samples the firm keeps on hand. The flooring in this room playfully incorporates more than two dozen different styles and colors of carpet tile. Similarly, the ceiling integrates a variety of tile styles. An array of building materials and price points are featured throughout the building so that clients may better understand their finish choices. From travertine to glass, Riverbend is purposely a collection of materials for experiencing different building elements and design perspectives.
The large break room which fronts the river and nature preserve is both bright and energetic. With both pool table and foosball on hand, it serves the employees and allows them to break up their day with a bit of relaxation and community. An in-house fitness center with exercise equipment is also available for those on a fitness track.
